PARIS Saint Germain gave their fans little to cheer over Christmas as they could not turn pressure into goals and had to settle for a point with Bordeaux.

Coach Luis Fernandez will have been unimpressed as his players did little to help ease his precarious situation.

The early exchanges were dominated by the home side who managed to grab the lead through Fabrice Fiorese.

Ronaldinho failed to control the ball which then deflected off Bordeaux full back David Jemmali into the path of Fiorese who slipped the ball past Ulrich Rame for his seventh of the season.

Bordeaux began to weather the storm and levelled matters up just before half time when good link up play between Savio and Eduardo Costa put in Pascal Feindouno who coolly slotted home.

Under pressure Fernandez tried vainly to find another goal throwing on forwards Martin Cardetti and Bartholemew Ogbeche.

Bordeaux were reduced to ten men late on when Marco Caneira was shown a straight red for striking goalscorer Fabrice Fiorese.

The chance to claim a much needed victory seemed to have appeared when Cardetti was then dragged down in the box by Ulrich Rame a minute later.

Ronaldinho took the spot kick but saw it saved by French International Rame with Cardetti unable to put in the rebound.

The result will do little to ease the pressure on the PSG coach as his side will go into the Winter break well adrift of  Le Championnat contenders.
