BORDEAUX have received a boost just weeks into the new Le Championnat season after young defender Marc Planus pledged his future to the club.

The trainee, who came up through the club's school of excellence, has agreed a three-year contract at the Parc Lescure stadium.

Bordeaux are particularly pleased as first-choice central defender Alain Roche is out injured, handing the youngster an early chance to make an impression with coach Elie Baup.

The French outfit have made an impressive start to the new campaign having taken four points from their opening two matches, and will be hoping to keep their good run of form going when they travel to Montpellier on Saturday.
