French defender could make permanent switch

Peterborough manager Gary Johnson has begun talks with defender Franck Queudrue over a permanent deal. The 31-year-old left-back has been on trial with Posh and played 45 minutes of last weekend's 3-1 friendly win over Rushden. Queudrue, formerly of Lens, Middlesbrough, Fulham and Birmingham, could join the League One club, although Johnson also revealed the defender is in talks with a Greek side. When asked if the two parties had discussed a potential deal, he said: "We have. We knew that when he came to us that he had a date with a Greek club that he promised that he would go over and talk to them. "He promised us that he would come back and talk to us before he makes any decisions. "He enjoyed playing in our team the other night, or the last couple of games. I think he sees the dressing room is strong. "We all know there's still a lot to do of course and league games are a much different kettle of fish. "But we are on the right lines and so hopefully, if a quality player like Franck, if you can get the terms done and we can take him then fantastic. "But if not, there's nothing we can do about that, we move on and we work with what we've got."
