Lens goalkeeper Charles Itandje admits his future at the club has been cast into doubt.Lens goalkeeper Charles Itandje admits his future at the club has been cast into doubt following the signing of Vedran Runje.
The arrival of the Besiktas keeper has not sat well with Itandje, who is of the opinion that Lens' management could be ready to usurp him between the posts.
In the past it has been reported that Itandje is a target for the likes of Real Betis and Manchester City and, despite five largely successful years at the club, he is now willing to look at his options.
"I received a phone call (from Lens directors) while I was on holiday. Without a 'hello', just to tell me to call my agent," Itandje told RMC. "It isn't super smart.
"It seems like they have signed a replacement for (substitute goalkeeper) Sebastien Chabert (who has joined Amiens). But if they have signed somebody to replace me, I am not okay to become number two. I wouldn't accept it.
"As long as I haven't discussed it with my directors, Runje is a number two. But I don't trust anybody in football. Anything can happen, for sure."
Meanwhile, Lens full-back has elected to join Ligue 2 club Le Havre on the expiration of his contract.
"It has been a choice of my heart because Le Havre have followed my performances for more than a year," he told the club's official website.
"They absolutely wanted to sign me."
