Ferreyra Jussie's 13th minute goal handed 10-man Bordeaux a 1-0 win over Lens in Sunday's top-of-the-table clash.
The win enabled the hosts to climb above the visitors and into second place behind runaway leaders Lyon.
The result was all the more notable for Ricardo's side because for much of the match they were a man light due to David Jemmali's 38th minute dismissal.
Lens could not find a way through at Stade Chaban Delmas and Bordeaux held on for the three points.
Marseille won the battle of two European hopefuls at Stade Velodrome after dispatching Sochaux 4-2.
Sochaux actually took the lead through Jerome Leroy, as early as the sixth minute, only for Lorik Cana to equalise just eight minutes later.
It was not until the 69th minute that Marseille grabbed the lead for the first time, with Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse on target.
Samir Nasri (72) and Franck Ribery (84) made sure of victory, however, and an injury-time own goal from Julien Rodriguez was mere consolation for the visitors.
