Nancy missed their chance to close the gap on leaders Lyon as they were beaten 2-0 by Lorient.
Ulrich Le Pen opened the scoring for Lorient after 66 minutes and then Hamed Namouchi wrapped up the victory two minutes from time.
The only other winners on a day of five draws were Toulouse, who swept aside Sedan 3-1 at the Stadium Municipal.
Fabinho (pictured) broke the deadlock for the home side on the stroke of half time, before Johan Elmander doubled their advantage after 50 minutes.
Mansour Boutabout (66) pulled a goal back for Sedan, but Elmander struck again just five minutes later to lift Toulouse up to seventh.
There was late drama at Nantes, where St Etienne twice came from behind to draw 2-2.
Pascal Feindouno (48) equalised Eric Cubiler's opener (38), and then Vincent Hognon salvaged a point for St Etienne in stoppage time after Nourdin Boukhari (86) had restored Nantes' lead.
Le Mans and Paris Saint Germain drew 1-1 at Leon-Bollee, with Bonaventure Kalou firing the Parisians ahead from the penalty spot (11) and Chiguy Lucay levelling after 35 minutes.
There were three goalless draws, with Rennes frustrating Lens and Nice and Sochaux also firing blanks.
The day's earlier game, between Bordeaux and Auxerre, also finished 0-0.
