Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud has revealed the club would welcome midfielder Denilson back to the club.

Denilson's contract with Les Girondins expired at the end of last season and the two parties were unable to agree a new contract for the Brazilian.

Clubs across Europe have been linked with his signing but the 27-year-old has yet to find himself a new club.

Triaud has refused to rule out a return to the Stade Chaban-Delmas for Denilson but insists it will be on his terms.

"We are still interested in him, but not at any price," Triad said.

"He has received some lucrative propositions that are attractive on a financial level but not on a sporting level.

"Considering what I know, he has not signed anything yet. As long as he has not signed anything, the door remains open."

Bordeaux coach Ricardo is to step up his bid to bring in new faces ahead of their return to UEFA Champions League football this season.

Lens defender Vitorino Hilton has been linked with a ‚é¼4 million (£2.7 million) switch to Bordeaux, although his current club are thought to be unwilling to sell the stopper.

Amiens starlet Issiar Dia is also a target, with Bordeaux reported to have tabled a ‚é¼1 million (£675,000) offer for the 19-year-old.

One player thought to be close to joining Bordeaux is CSKA Moscow's Daniel Carvalho and although happy with how his squad is shaping up, Ricardo remains hopeful of some new faces before the transfer window shuts.

‚Ç£We have kept our players, which is a very good thing, and Johann Micoud has signed,‚Ç¥ Ricardo told Sud-Ouest.

‚Ç£Then, we are still waiting for new players. A left midfielder will come. It could be Daniel Carvalho.

‚Ç£But if there is another great player, in defence, midfield or attack, he could be useful.

‚Ç£There will be opportunities, like Denilson last year.

‚Ç£It is not the best situation, because we start without the new players that will come, but that was the same thing last year, Fernando and Denilson arrived after the beginning of the championship.

‚Ç£But that won't prevent us starting well, I am confident for the beginning.‚Ç¥

Meanwhile, midfielder Renaud Cohade has left Bordeaux and joined Ligue 2 side Strasbourg.

The 21-year-old had failed to impress Ricardo and spent last season on loan at Sete.

Cohade had also been linked with a move to St Etienne after spending part of the summer on trial at the club, but Strasbourg coach Jean-Pierre Papin has snapped him up on a two-year deal.
