Sidi Keita has spoken of his delight after securing a switch to Lens from Strasbourg.
The Mali youngster was the subject of a tug-of-war between Monaco and Lens when it became clear he was going to leave Strasbourg in the close season.
At one stage the Principality outfit looked to be edging ahead in the race for his signature but having completed a move to Lens, where he penned a five-year deal, Keita is more than content with his choice.
'The discussions between Strasbourg and Monaco have been very complicated,'' Keita told the club's official website.
''But to me Lens are a great club, so why not? It is true that Monaco have no fans in the stadium.
''Playing in front of 40,000 Lens fans, that is much better! I come here to qualify for the Champions League.
''Of course I have signed to play, I will fight to obtain my place but the coach decides.''
