Lens moved into the top four of Ligue 1 after a 2-1 victory over St Etienne at Stade Felix-Bollaert.
The hosts had to do it the hard way, though, after falling behind to Loic Perrin's strike midway through the first half.
Lens striker Olivier Thomert equalised ten minutes later before Daniel Cousin completed the turnaround with a 64th minute winner.
Rennes also claimed a narrow win, defeating 10-man Nice 1-0.
After a goalless first half Swiss international Alexander Frei was the home side's hero, firing home what proved to be the winner in the 62nd minute.
Nice will be aggrieved at the loss particularly as referee Said Ennjimi dismissed defender Bill Tchato for a second bookable offence a matter of moments before Frei struck.
Mamadou Niang spared Marseille's blushes with a second half-equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Nancy.
Moncef Zerka had handed the home side a 49th minute lead before Niang struck to ensure a share of the spoils.
Nancy move up a place to 12th in Ligue 1 while Marseille drop a place courtesy of Rennes' climb to seventh.
