Stuttgart survived a second leg scare at Domzale to progress to the group stage of the Uefa Cup with a 2-1 aggregate victory.

Leading 2-0 from the first leg the Germans travelled to Slovenia in confident mood but Dalibor Stevanovic's 16th minute strike halved the arrears.

Benfica overcame a one goal first leg deficit to overcome Malmo 4-2 on aggregate.

Souleymane Youla was the star of the show with the Guinean striker claiming a brace.

The Swede's riposte was Alfonso Alves's 61st minute goal however Tumer Metin wrapped up the win in stoppage time.

An 89th minute goal from Andrei Arshavin saw Zenit St Petersburg upset AEK Athens in The Florian Meyer Stadium.

Neither side had managed a goal in almost 180 minutes of football and the tie seemed destined for extra time before Arshavin's late intervention.
