Strasbourg officials have found an agreement with Lens to sign their African striker Dagui Bakari on loan for next season.

The powerful Ivory Coast marksman will spend the season at Strasbourg in the hope of kick-starting his career that has stalled at Lens.

"I had talks with coach Antoine Kombouare and manager Marc Keller," said Bakari.

"Those talks were very positive.

"Mentally I have lived a very difficult last season. Now I just want to play."

Meanwhile, Yves Deroff could stay with Racing despite contact with Lille and St Etienne, after they offered the free agent a three-year deal.

Strasbourg have been busy in the transfer market as goalkeeper Stephane Cassard has signed a two-year contract to become their number two shot-stopper.

One man the club seem certain to miss out on, however, is Monaco's Seden international midfielder Pontus Fernerud - who spent last season on loan.

Strasbourg would like to keep him on a permanent basis but PSG are said to be interested and it is unlikely that Strasbourg could afford him.
