Lens defender Cyril Rool is to undergo a trial with a mystery club - possibly from England - after deciding the time is right to leave France.
The powerful stopper, nicknamed 'The Pitbull', had a frustrating end to last season after requiring an operation on a dislocated shoulder.
After failing to return for training on Monday, it is anticipated that the former Marseille man will soon be found spending the pre-season with another club.
Rool feels he has been unfairly targeted by referees in Ligue 1 and is keen to leave Lens.
"I think people have put a label on my back," he stated this year. "Especially the referees.
"So that is why I would like to discover a foreign country.
"I have played for a lot of clubs all over France for 10 years and now I would like to have fun."
