Cologne coach Marcel Koller has earmarked Lille defender Mathieu Delpierre as a key transfer target in the summer.
The former French Under-21 star has fallen out of favour with his current club, having made it known he has no intention of extending his contract which expires in the summer.
The 22-year-old is keen on a move abroad but it remains to be seen whether he would be willing to play second-tier football - with Cologne looking doomed to relegation from Die Bundesliga this season.
Delpierre has also been linked with a move to Lens, but a move abroad does seem a more likely option.
