Lens eye Senegal ace

LENS are keen on bringing yet another of Senegal's World Cup stars to Le Championnat as they chase Pape Thiaw.

Many of the country's stars that have amazed the world by battling into the World Cup quarter finals in the Far East ply their trade in France, and Lens are eyeing yet another.

The 21-year-old forward has sampled life in France while at Strasbourg on loan from his Swiss club Lausanne, and could be ready for a permanent move.

The Swiss club will let him go for ‚é¼1.8 million due to a release clause in his contract and that would alert clubs across Europe to his availability.

The Senegal squad will be in great demand after their brave World Cup adventure is over and their power, pace and technical ability has surprised many who thought they would be in the tournament just for the experience.

Last year's runners-up Lens are set to lose Senegal star man El Hadji Diouf when he moves to Premiership giants Liverpool, and have been eyeing his international team-mate Thiaw as a natural replacement.
