Lyon insist no deal has been agreed with Schalke for the sale of Michel Bastos and have also ruled out Lisandro Lopez joining Juventus on loan.
Bastos has been widely tipped to leave Lyon this month in order to ease the club's financial problems and reports had claimed he was on his way to Schalke.
However, while Lyon are in talks with Schalke, coach Remi Garde confirmed there is other interest in the Brazilian, who missed Friday night's game against Valenciennes.
"Nothing is definitive about Michel," said Garde. "Talks have greatly improved with a club but a new club showed interest in Friday night."
Meanwhile, Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas is adamant Lisandro will not be leaving for Juventus, who are set to sign Nicolas Anelka on a short-term contract.
Aulas said: "Lisandro will not go to Juventus and, above all, under such conditions (a loan). So it should be over, and he is injured."
The Lyon supremo also conceded that there is no guarantee that Yoann Gourcuff will not head out on loan before the close of the transfer window.
"Before the winter transfer market started, I talked about three players that could leave," added Aulas.
"After Monzon, who joined Fluminense, and Bastos, there is one player remaining and, if we cannot sell him, we have to at least reduce the wage bill."
