Lyon boss Remi Garde insists Sunday's Ligue 1 showdown against title rivals Paris Saint-Germain will not make or break the season for either side.

Lyon head into the game with a three-point lead over their rivals at the top of the table but missed the chance to extend that gap when they were surprisingly held at home by struggling Nancy on Wednesday night.

The result ended a run of three straight league wins for Garde's men and gave the momentum back to Carlo Ancelotti's PSG, who go into the game on the back of successive 4-0 wins over Evian and Valenciennes respectively.

Garde said: "This is a very big and important game but it is not going to decide who are going to be champions of France. It will not end for either team with a draw or defeat."

Garde's hopes are hit by a mounting injury list that sees Clement Grenier, Yoann Gourcuff and Alexandre Lacazette still injured, while Anthony Reveillere faces a late fitness test and Mouhamadou Dabo is suspended.

Meanwhile, PSG will look to build on a fine run of form to earn the win that could take them back to the top of the Ligue 1 table, with Ancelotti delighted by his side's away victory at Valenciennes on Tuesday.

Ancelotti said: "We are back at home against Lyon and we must show the qualities we have got against Lyon. We will take a lot of confidence into the game, but we know that we must be careful."
