Steed Malbranque is confident his future lies at Sunderland and will not be looking to leave the club.

Midfielder feels he has the support of the fans

Steed Malbranque is confident his future lies at Sunderland and will not be looking to leave the Stadium of Light in the summer. The midfield schemer has made 27 appearances in the Premier League this season, but was recently left out by manager Steve Bruce following a breach of club rules. That prompted speculation that Bruce could look to offload Malbranque at the end of the season as he continues to shape his squad on Wearside. However, the 30-year-old has reclaimed his place in the Sunderland team and is happy to have the support of the Black Cats faithful. He said in The Journal: "My future is with Sunderland, I have no questions about that. "It's good to be in the first team, but every day and every game is different. You never know your future. "But I'm happy. It's nice that I have a lot of fans behind me at Sunderland. "I'm happy here, happy where I live with my family. My daughters go to school and it's all good up here. It's a little bit windy, but it's okay, I can handle it."
