Galatasaray have confirmed the signing of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Leo Franco on a free transfer.
Keeper looking forward to playing under Rijkaard
Galatasaray have confirmed the double signing of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Leo Franco and Lyon winger Abdul Kader Keita.
Franco has signed a three-year contract with the Turkish giants and leaves Atletico on a free transfer after five seasons in the Spanish capital.
The experienced Argentina international is relishing the chance to play for Galatasaray after being Atletico's first-choice keeper last season.
"This is a source of pride and a huge step for me," said Franco. "I needed a new challenge."
Of working with new Gala coach Frank Rijkaard, he added: "He won the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona and left his mark at the club.
"I like his playing system very much and I hope the fans will too."
Ivory Coast attacker Keita has also agreed a three-year deal with Galatasaray and he arrives for an undisclosed fee, having been Lyon's record signing back in 2007.
