Ligue 1 round-up

Lyon could only draw 0-0 as they celebrated winning the title with a trip to Auxerre.

Lyon's celebrations at winning a sixth successive Ligue 1 title proved to be somewhat of a damp squib, as they could only eke out a 0-0 draw with Auxerre.

Toulouse's defeat to Rennes on Saturday handed Gerard Houllier's side the championship, but on Sunday it was somewhat of an anti-climax on their travels.

Auxerre goalkeeper Olivier Sorin had to be at his sharpest to ensure parity was retained, as he repeatedly denied a Lyon side keen to put on a championship winning display.

Brazilian playmaker Juninho (pictured) was denied when a trademark free-kick was repelled, while Milan Baros twice went close after smart runs, but found Sorin too agile to beat.

In the final minute Lyon substitute Gregory Bettiol had a low drive denied, as Lyon had to settle for a point on a day of celebration in Auxerre.

In Sunday's only other game in Ligue 1 Bordeaux enjoyed a fine away day success as they beat St Etienne 2-0 on their travels.

After a goalless first period Fernando Menegazzo fired them into a 51st minute lead, before in the final minute, Gabriel Obertan made sure of the spoils.
