Lyon marched on at the summit of Ligue 1 following a late 1-0 win at Sochaux.

The leaders had looked set to drop points until the introduction of former Arsenal forward Sylvain Wiltord.

Wiltord came off the bench after 72 minutes and just six minutes later he found the back of the net.

The win maintains Lyon's start to the season while Sochaux have just two wins from their eight league games to date.

Lille are up into third following a 1-0 win over rock-bottom Nice.

Substitute Nicolas Fauvergue secured the points for Lille with his 68th minute winner.

Jeremy Menez's 80th minute winner for Monaco moved the Principality out of the bottom three.

Monaco looked like being held by Le Mans after Ndri Romaric cancelled out Yaya Toure's opener, but Menez snatched all three points.

Troyes remain just above the drop zone after being held to a goalless draw at Lorient.

Sedan are out of the bottom three following a 1-0 win over Rennes, Stephane Noro's 40th minute penalty settled the encounter.

Bordeaux lost ground on the leading pack after going down to Valenciennes.

Eric Chelle opened the scoring at Stade Nungrasser with Freddy Bourgeois clinching the contest in injury time.
