Lyon could be about to try and hijack Real Betis striker Ricardo Oliveira's proposed switch to Milan.
The 26-year-old has been strongly tipped to move to the San Siro before the transfer window closes after the two clubs agreed a fee for the Brazilian striker.
However, Lyon are being linked with a late move for Oliveira after seemingly missing out on number one target David Trezeguet.
The French champions are thought to be willing to better Milan's offer of é¼15 million (£10 million) to try and bring Oliveira to the Stade Gerland.
Meanwhile, Juventus striker Trezeguet would reportedly prefer a move to his homeland with Lyon.
Gerard Houllier and Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson are both keen to land the French international but Juventus are determined to keep hold of Trezeguet.
The Red Devils are being linked with an increased bid for the hit-man but do not appear to be Trezeguet's favoured destination.
