Lyon have reportedly lined up Bayer Leverkusen star Tranquillo Barnetta as a possible replacement for Sidney Govou.
Govou is rumoured to be on his way to Valencia and, with number one target Franck Ribery set to stay at Marseille, Lyon have been forced to look at other options.
They have been impressed by Swiss international Barnetta's performances in Die Bundesliga and are believed to have entered talks with the 21-year-old about a possible deal.
Meanwhile, Lyon are continuing their efforts to bring in a replacement for Mahammadou Diarra, who sealed a move to Real Madrid over the weekend.
They have targeted his namesake, Lens' Alou Diarra, as the ideal candidate but are still looking to finalise an agreement.
Villarreal's Marcos Senna, who was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United during the summer, is also in Lyon's thoughts, while Johann Vogel of Milan has been mentioned as a possibility.
In other news, Benoit Pedretti is keen to join Auxerre after accepting that his first team opportunities at the Stade Gerland have become limited.
