Ligue 1 leaders Lyon were moments away from defeat at Lens on Saturday but salvaged a 1-1 draw at Stade Felix-Bollaert.

Former Arsenal striker Sylvain Wiltord struck a minute into time added on at the end of the match as Gerard Houllier's side got out of jail.

After a goalless first half, Ferryera Jussie's 56th minute gave the hosts the lead but Wiltord spared his side's blushes

The champions' lead has been cut to seven points, however, after Bordeaux picked up all three with a 2-0 win over Rennes.

In a comfortable evening for the Stade Chaban-Delmas outfit Fernando Menegazzo scored their first goal on 40 minutes and the win was wrapped up by former Liverpool midfielder Vladimir Smicer midway through the second half.

Le Mans are the big movers in Ligue 1 after a 2-0 win over Nice lifted the club up to the heady heights of fifth.

After a goalless first half at Leon-Bollee the hosts made sure of the win with two goals inside four second half minutes midway through the second period through first James Fanchone and then Ismael Bangoura.

Third place Auxerre slipped up with a 1-1 draw at home to bottom club Metz although it could have been much worse for Jacques Santini's side after the visitors took a 54th minute lead through Ludovic Obraniak.

Luigi Pieroni's successful conversion of a 75th minute penalty ensured a share of the spoils although a point does little to improve Metz's hopes of avoiding demotion to Ligue 2.

Troyes gained a useful point, however, in their battle to avoid relegation after coming from behind to claim a 1-1 draw at Monaco.

After Christian Vieri gave the home an early lead at Stade Louis II many would have anticipated a long night for the visitors but Troyes levelled through Eloge Enza Yamissi shortly after the hour mark and held on for the draw.

ASM's frustration boiled over and Lucas Bernardi was dismissed in the 74th minute.

In a relegation six-pointer at Strasbourg the hosts were left to lament their inability to hold onto a lead after drawing 2-2 with Ajaccio.

Twice the hosts held the advantage through Alexander Farnerud (3) and Amara Diane (59).

However, a brace from Moussa N'Diaye rescued a point for Ajaccio who still trail fourth from bottom Troyes by five points.

Elsewhere, Nancy claimed a 2-0 win over St Etienne to leapfrog their opponents in mid-table.

The game was effectively made safe for the hosts inside the first 20 minutes when, after Mickael Chretien had given Nancy an eighth minute lead, Elie Kroupi added another from the penalty spot.

A hat-trick from Mamadou Diallo was the highlight as Nantes ran out 3-1 winners over Sochaux.

Diallo struck first in the 20th minute although his strike was quickly cancelled out by Ilan.

Diallo was not to be denied, however, and duly added to his tally in the 71st and 73rd minutes.
