Ligue 1 Round-Up

Lyon extended their lead at the top of France's top flight thanks to a 1-0 win over Sochaux.

Lyon extended their lead at the top of France's top flight thanks to a Florent Malouda goal against Sochaux.

Those expecting a goal-fest at Stade de Gerland's were left disappointed after Malouda's strike proved to the game's match winner in the 54th minute.

Bordeaux had Jean-Claude Darcheville to thank for their 2-0 win over Troyes, as the pacey hit-man netted both goals.

Darcheville broke the deadlock on seven minutes and then secured maximum spoils ten minutes after the interval.

Marseille's indifferent start continued on home soil as they could only draw 1-1 against Lille.

Sergio Pardo Koke had given Marseille an early advantage but former Tottenham misfit Milenko Acimovic ensured Lille secured a share of the spoils with a leveller.

Daniel Cousin's goal on 25 minutes was enough to give Lens a 1-0 win over Toulouse, whilst Monaco returned to form with a 3-0 success over Ajaccio.

Ernesto Chevanton set the Principality outfit on their way in the 38th before Gael Givet (57) and Jaroslav Plasil (76) secured the win in the second half.

Nantes claimed a 1-0 win over Le Mans thanks to a Claudiu Keseru penalty in the 19th minute, while Bafetimbi Gomis' goal on 72 minutes saw St Etienne win 1-0 on their travels to Strasbourg.

Bottom of the table Metz lost again as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Rennes - whose goals came from John Utaka and Alexander Frei in the 17th and 56th minute respectively.
