Sidney Govou has revealed he is no rush to leave Lyon despite the club revealing they are willing to let him go.

Govou looks set to leave Stade Gerland in the summer after expressing his desire to play in another league.

Lyon have decided to grant Govou's wish to leave as reward for his loyalty to the club.

A number of clubs including Newcastle are believed to be keen on signing Govou, but the France international insists he will only join an ambitious club.

"I will know more when I meet the chairman," Govou told L'Equipe. "Notably I don't know the transfer fee. And of course the price has an importance.

"Indeed I stated I aim for a new adventure. However I am not keen to leave for anywhere and do anything.

"I won't go where I don't want to go.

"At Lyon I am not so bad. The club is ambitious, they already aim for a fifth national title and a Champions League final.

"So it won't be a problem to stay one more year. Anyway I am under contract until 2008."
