Marseille have opened talks with defenders Demetrius Ferreira and Abdoulaye Meite about contract extentions.

Ferreira (pictured) signed a six-month loan deal at Stade Velodrome during the January transfer window but has impressed sufficiently for Marseille to want to conclude a permanent deal with Bastia.

However, the attacking right-sided full back has caught the eye of clubs all over Europe including Premiership duo Bolton and Blackburn, as well as Torino, Nantes and Zaragoza, so he could choose to wait and weigh up his options.

Meanwhile, Meite - a centre half - will be out of contract in the summer and is another who has attracted widespread interest.

Bolton along with Rangers and Palermo has all watched the imposing stopper, though the player has expressed a desire to remain with Jose Anigo's side, and it is claimed he will pen a four-year deal.

Marseille are also expected to open talks in the near future with Sochaux star Benoit Pedretti's agent, although they face stiff competition from Paris Saint Germain and Lyon for the 23-year-old's signature.
