FRENCH champions Lyon have wrapped up the signing of Mahamadou Diarra from Vitesse Arnhem.
Diarra has signed a five-year contract with Lyon, who have paid the Dutch outfit ‚é¼6 million to secure the services of the Malian international.
Lyon had been tracking the 21-year-old midfielder for some time and had been determined to add him to their squad ahead of the defence of their crown.
The midfield powerhouse shot to prominence in the African Cup of Nations earlier in the year and had been tracked by Lazio and Ajax.
However, Lyon pounced first and they will be hoping Diarra can make an impact in Le Championnat.
