Foxes on McFadden trail

LEICESTER CITY have been linked with a £1 million swoop for Motherwell starlet James McFadden.

With key midfielder Muzzy Izzet on the brink of a £6 million switch to Middlesbrough Foxes chief Dave Bassett is looking for a new face in that area with 18-year-old McFadden seemingly fitting the bill.

The talented teenager has shone for a struggling Motherwell side this season netting eight times and his performances have not gone unnoticed with a number of Scottish clubs looking at the young Scot.

Eric Black is desperate to keep McFadden at Fir Park but the financial plight of the Lanarkshire club could force them to part with the player who was voted the SPL's young player of the month for January.

Leicester are also thought to be keen on Lorient's Ivory Coast striker Elie Kroupi with a possible loan deal mentioned.
