PSG are on the brink of winning the Ligue 1 title after Caen stunned Lyon 3-0 on Saturday, while Metz were relegated.

Needing to win to keep PSG within three points with two games left, Lyon folded at the strugglers and now need a shock string of results to pip the capital club.

This defeat means they are six points behind with six to play for and with a significantly worse goal difference.

Nicolas Benezet scored twice in a thrilling period before the break and Sloan Privat wrapped things up before full-time.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the table, Lorient thrashed Metz 4-0 thanks to goals from Mehdi Mostefa, Romain Philippoteaux, Lamine Kone and Jordan Ayew to confirm their fall back to Ligue 2 while strugglers Reims defeated Evian 3-2 to increase the gap to the third-bottom club to four points.

David Ngog scored twice for visiting Reims with Benjamin Moukandjo adding a late goal which was enough for them to edge past Evian, who had led through strikes from Gilles Sunu and Mathieu Duhamel.

Bastia are safe after a 1-0 away win at Rennes, Gael Danic scoring the only goal of the game in the 78th minute, while Bordeaux kept their bid for European action alive with a 2-1 win over Nantes.

Diego Rolan scored a goal in each half for Bordeaux, the first from the penalty spot, as he cancelled out Jordan Veretout's 15th minute spot-kick for Nantes then put his side ahead in the last match at Stade Chaban Delmas.

In the other game, Toulouse boosted their survival hopes with a 3-2 win over Lille.

Wissam Ben Yedder cancelled out Nolan Roux's ninth-minute opener for Lille, before Sofiane Boufal put the visitors back in front on the hour mark.

However, late goals for Oscaar Trejo and Martin Braithwaite saw Toulouse claim what could be a vital victory.
