Marseille returned to the top of the Ligue 1 standings thanks to a 3-1 victory over Bordeaux on Sunday.

Paris Saint-Germain had gone top on Friday with a 3-2 away win at Metz, but goals from Mario Lemina, Andre-Pierre Gignac and Michy Batshuayi gave OM the victory after Bordeaux had gone ahead through Thomas Toure in the 54th minute.

The result put Marseille one point clear of PSG at the top, with Bordeaux slipping to fifth.

Nantes had goalkeeper Remy Riou to thank for holding out a late onslaught from St Etienne as the two sides recorded a goalless draw at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

The result sees Michel Der Zakarian's side extend their undefeated run to 10 games in all competitions to leave them fourth thanks to a better goal difference than Bordeaux, while for their opponents it was a fourth consecutive draw as the point moved them up to sixth.

Montpellier's confidence received a much-needed boost as they beat Toulouse 2-0.

Rolland Courbis' side had only won one of their last six games in all competitions, but goals from Anthony Mounier and Souleymane Camara earned them the points which lift Montpellier into the top half of the table.

Toulouse's away form remains a cause for concern, however, having lost nine of their last 11 matches on the road in Ligue 1.
