Experienced frontman Pierre-Alain Frau has re-signed for Ligue 1 strugglers Sochaux on a short-term deal.
The 33-year-old has returned to his native France on a contract which is due to run until the end of the season.
The former Lyon and Paris St Germain striker had most recently been turning out in the Qatar Stars League for Al-Wakrah.
He has now been lured home to the club that helped to launch his career.
Frau spent seven years with Sochaux between 1997 and 2004, during which time he made over 200 senior appearances.
He is now back where it all began and hopes his experience and keen eye for goal can help the club off the foot of the Ligue 1 table.
Frau told L'Equipe: "I want to come back to lend a hand.
"This is where I was born, where I started, it is a homecoming.
"Late last week, the coach told me he had been reassured by my physical condition.
"Although, initially, I wanted to wait until January and not rush, I did not hesitate."
