Auxerre are hoping to tie down starlet Paul-Georges Ntep to his first professional contract.
The Cameroon-born 21-year-old striker was given his first-team debut last term and impressed with eight goals, which attracted attention from a number of clubs.
Qatar side Al-Jaish, Anderlecht, Standard Liege and Crystal Palace were all linked with moves for Ntep, who has has made an excellent start to the new season with four goals in six matches.
However, despite big interest in the France Under-21 international, the Ligue 2 side are hopeful a deal to keep him will be done - but it will include a release clause.
Auxerre's chairman Guy Cotret explained in L'Equipe: "We will put a clause in his contract that could make him leave if a club pay a fee."
