Valenciennes are hopeful of having top-scorer Anthony Le Tallec available for Saturday's clash with Montpellier.
The 28-year-old has sat out his side's last two matches, against Sochaux and Bastia, to allow a troublesome Achilles tendon injury time to recover.
But coach Daniel Sanchez told the club's official website: "He has returned to full training."
Le Tallec has scored five goals in six games this season, firing braces in big wins over Marseille and Lorient to help Valenciennes reach fifth place in Ligue 1.
Goalkeeper Nicolas Penneteau gave Sanchez another scare when he missed Tuesday's training session with a knee injury, but he is expected to be available at the Stade Du Hainaut this weekend.
Forward Francis Massampu is back in training, with fellow knee injury victim Dusan Djuric almost ready to resume running as he battles back from a longer-term problem.
