Former France international impresses Ligue 1 new boys on trial
Troyes have bolstered their squad ahead of a return to Ligue 1 by signing former France international Jeremie Brechet on a one-year contract.
Brechet had been available on a free transfer after leaving Sochaux at the end of last season and he had been training with Troyes.
He has now been handed a contract for the coming campaign, but he is not likely to be involved in the opening game of the Ligue 1 season against Valenciennes on Sunday.
The 32-year-old won three caps for France in 2001 and 2002, and has also played for Lyon, Inter Milan, Real Sociedad and PSV Eindhoven.
The left-back returned for a second spell with Sochaux in 2009, but struggled for regular first-team football last season.
