Robert Pires has revealed that he will make a decision on his footballing future in the next fortnight.

World Cup winner keen to play on but is waiting on offers

Robert Pires has revealed that he will make a decision on his footballing future in the next fortnight. The 37-year-old midfielder is currently without a club after being released by Aston Villa. The World Cup winner endured a frustrating time with the Premier League outfit last season and believes he still has unfinished business. That suggests the former Metz, Marseille, Arsenal and Villarreal man will play on, but he admits he has no offers currently on the table. "I can continue looking for a club for the next couple of weeks, then I will have to wait until the winter market opens and that is quite far away," Pires told L'Equipe.

Desire

"In the next few days I will make a decision about my future. "Today I have no concrete offers, but we will see what happens in the next week or two. "I don't want to end my career on the back of my experience at Aston Villa last season. "I still have the desire and motivation. We will see what happens in the coming days. I appreciate that I am shifting towards the end of my career."
