Ligue 1 outfit keen to keep Moroccan forward

Nancy are hoping Youssouf Hadji can be persuaded to stay at the club, despite seeing him reiterate his desire to leave. The Moroccan is under contract until next summer, but admits he would welcome the opportunity to take on a new challenge this year. Lille, Rennes, Wolfsburg and Schalke have all expressed an interest, but no formal offers have been made. With that in mind, Nancy claim they will continue to do all they can to keep the 31-year-old. Chairman Jacques Rousselot said in L'Equipe: "We have always supported Youssouf, even last season when he was banned. He has paid back that trust and is a brilliant man.

Important

"So far there have been no offers. If that changes in the coming days, we will talk." Coach Jean Fernandez added: "We will do our best to keep him. He is very important." Hadji is aware that he may not get his move this summer, but he admits he is still keen to force a transfer through at the earliest possible opportunity. He said: "I still want to leave, but I will give my best for as long as I remain at Nancy. "It is possible that I could play here this season and I could sign for another team in January, ready for a move as a free agent. "I am not that upset. I would have been much harder to manage if I had still been 20 years old."
