Emmanuel Riviere has confessed that he is looking to secure a move to Toulouse this summer.
The former France U21 international is keen to leave St Etienne and is hoping his current employers will not block his route to the exits.
Talks with Toulouse are believed to have already been opened, with a €6million (£5.4m) deal being discussed.
Riviere is hoping those meetings will produce a positive outcome, allowing him to make a fresh start at Stadium Municipal.
"I want to go to Toulouse," the 21-year-old forward told L'Equipe.
"The club has been chasing me for 18 months now and I would like to join them.
"I have told the coach and the chairman that I want to leave. The coach told me he would like me to stay, but he says he will not block my departure.
"Now I hope my transfer will bring in a good fee for the club, repaying them for the education they have given me and the good times I have had here.
"Toulouse is the perfect club for me. I still want to improve and I hope an agreement can be found.
"I have spoken to the Toulouse chairman and coach and I believe they really want me. That is important."
