Boubacar Sanogo has expressed his relief at shaking off a knee injury and returning to action.
The Ivorian striker has been sidelined since September with a nagging problem that he initially struggled to shake off.
He is, however, now free of the ailment and is working his way back to full match sharpness.
A welcome run-out for St Etienne's reserves this week saw him back among the goals and Sanogo is now setting his sights on earning a first-team recall.
"I am happy to be back playing football," he told skysports.com.
"It has been a very difficult time for me.
"Doubts creep into your head and you start asking yourself so many questions.
"But I am delighted to be back out on the field and doing what I enjoy best, scoring goals."
