The club's star striker is set to see his current deal expire in the summer and could walk away as a free agent if fresh terms are not agreed.

Auxerre are understandably keen to avoid such a situation, with the Polish striker having shone since being snapped up from Wisla Plock in 2006.

Dujon expects discussions to begin imminently, while he has also expressed a desire to tie coach Jean Fernandez down on an extended contract.

"Jelen will be a free agent next summer, but I hope we can keep him," the AJA supremo told L'Equipe.

"We will also do our very best to keep coach Fernandez."

Ambition

Auxerre certainly need to retain the services of their key men, with the 2010/11 campaign having failed to live up to expectations.

Dujon insists there is no need for sweeping changes, though, and has played down any suggestion that the club will look to bring in reinforcements in January.

He added: "Buying players in the winter window? Why do we need to add given what we already have? This team really pleases me.

"We will make our winter ambition to get our injured players back and playing to their best: Anthony Le Tallec, Ireneusz Jelen, Alexandre Licata...

"Maybe we will make one signing, but I am more focused on those coming back into the side.

"There will be no big changes next summer either."
