Anthony Le Tallec has declared himself fit and ready for a first-team return at Auxerre.
The 26-year-old striker was initially expected to be sidelined until January with a serious ankle injury.
That problem has kept him out of action since 22nd September, preventing him from helping Auxerre recover from a slow start to the season.
He is, however, close to making a return and claims he could be back in contention for Saturday's trip to Lens.
"My recovery is well ahead of schedule," said the striker, who has scored once in his six appearances for Auxerre since signing from Le Mans in the summer.
"I'm no longer in any pain. My injury is now ancient history and I'm hoping to be called up again."
Auxerre boss Jean Fernandez will be keen to welcome Le Tallec back into the fold as he has been left short on striking options this term.
Talismanic frontman Ireneusz Jelen has also spent a prolonged spell on the treatment table, denying AJA of their two most potent attacking weapons.
