Pape Diakhate has expressed his delight at securing a loan switch to Lyon from Dynamo Kiev.
The Senegal international made the move shortly before the summer transfer window shut down.
The 26-year-old defender is no stranger to Ligue 1, having started his career on the books of Nancy.
He also returned to France to take in a loan spell at St Etienne last season and is pleased to be back for a third stint.
Diakhate admits he had the luxury of being able to choose which club he joined, with Lyon's UEFA Champions League qualification edging them ahead of Paris St Germain.
"I am so happy," he said.
"Choosing between Lyon and Paris was an easy decision to make.
"Lyon have qualified for the Champions League, are a stable side and remain one of the best teams in Europe. I am here to give my very best."
