Schalke head coach Felix Magath will not meet Paris Saint Germain's £16.5million price tag for Guillaume Hoarau.
The France international striker joined the Ligue 1 outfit in 2008 from Le Havre and scored six goals in 22 games for the capital giants last season.
The Royal Blues have already brought in Raul from Real Madrid this summer and are on the look-out for another striker.
However, the Bundesliga coach says that he is unwilling to pay PSG what they want for the 26-year-old.
"Paris wanted 20million euros (£16.5million). That is not do-able for us," Magath told Bild.
Magath, who has recently been linked with a move for Roma's Julio Baptista, has revealed that he will not be following up his interest in Hoarau.
