Serie A outfit set to land Bordeaux's Brazilian midfielder

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi is confident of striking a deal with Bordeaux for Fernando Menegazzo. The Brazilian is under contract with the French champions until 2011, but is believed to be available for transfer. A switch to Italy, where he has previously turned out for Siena and Catania, appears to be on the cards, with an agreement all but sealed. Genoa have made no secret of their admiration for the 28-year-old over recent months and Preziosi believes the club will get their man when the January window opens for business. "We have reached an agreement with Menegazzo," he told Sky Italia. "There are only a few details left to be concluded. "I don't think it will be a problem sorting these out with Bordeaux after agreeing with the player. "As for any other arrivals, we have to do something with our defence and are looking for options."
