Mathieu Valbuena insists he is happy to have taken the decision to remain with Marseille.
The 24-year-old has seen himself drop down the pecking order under new boss Didier Deschamps, but he remains upbeat about his future.
He was strongly linked with moves to England and Spain, but he insists he has not yet finished his work with l'OM.
"The coming season is going to be exciting, there are big challenges and I like difficulty," said Valbuena.
"I felt I didn't completely terminate the job here. And I still have a lot to learn. I didn't want to join any club.
"Above all I was not sure I wanted to leave. Now I am sure with my choice. I have no regrets.
"I have always fought hard for a position in the team."
