Lyon will complete the signing of Lille midfielder Michel Bastos for 18million euros on Thursday.
The 25-year-old will undergo a medical and pen a four-year deal as Lyon look to make the most of the funds raised by the sale of Karim Benzema to Real Madrid.
The Ligue 1 club have already signed striker Lisandro Lopez from Porto for 24million euros and the arrival of Bastos, who was nominated for the French player of the year award last term, highlights their ambition ahead of the new season.
The left-sider, who can also play at full-back, scored 14 goals last time out meaning the Brazilian should fill the void left by Juninho following his departure to Qatar.
Bastos began his career with Feyenoord but after a short stay at Excelsior Rotterdam he moved back to his homeland in 2003 before returning to Europe with Lille in 2006.
The former Atletico Paranaense star caught his new employer's eyes when he scored one of the most memorable goals of the season against them last term when he fired home a free-kick from an acute angle from 30 yards out.
