FC Twente midfielder Cheick Tiote has admitted he does find the idea of moving to Ligue 1 quite appealing.
Rennes are currently looking for reinforcements as they brace themselves for the probable departure of Stephane Mbia.
Tiote has reportedly emerged as their top target following an impressive 2008/9 campaign with Twente.
The 23-year-old Ivorian, who excels in the holding role, believes it would be interesting to play for a French club.
But he insists he would also be happy to continue his development with Twente.
"It is true the French league has got more media appeal, but at the moment I am at Twente and it is up to them," Tiote told skysports.com.
"I am still learning the game."
It is understood that Twente would demand a transfer fee of around €7million (£6million) for Tiote.
