Marseille defender makes Molineux switch

Wolves have made their sixth signing of the summer after bringing in Marseille defender Ronald Zubar for an undisclosed fee. As revealed by skysports.com last month Wolves were lining up a move for Zubar to bolster their defensive ranks. The 23-year-old, who has spent three seasons with l'OM, has penned a four-year deal with the Molineux outfit. Wolves claim to have beaten off 'fierce competition' for the defender, who becomes their fourth capture this week. Manager Mick McCarthy is delighted to sign Zubar after receiving positive reports from the club's scouting network in France.

Delighted

"I'm delighted we've managed to get him," he told the club's official website. "We've had some very good reports from those watching him out in France. "He will prove a valuable addition to the squad and I'm very much looking forward to working with him." Another defender who could be set to join Wolves is former Celtic stopper Bobo Balde, who has linked up with McCarthy's squad ahead of their pre-season trip to Australia. The giant defender, who is a free agent, will be hoping to impress Wolves' boss in their two pre-season games against Perth Glory and North Queensland Fury.
