Sevilla have turned their sights to Bordeaux's Alou Diarra having been knocked back by Tottenham's valuation of Didier Zokora, according to reports in France.
The reports suggest that Bordeaux have accepted a bid of €8m (£6.8m) for Diarra, having previously had a €6m (£5.1m) bid turned down.
Tottenham want around £8m for Zokora, a valuation Sevilla are not willing to meet despite holding the Ivorian in high regard.
The Rojiblancos are searching for a new central midfielder and were hoping to do business in the region of £7m, hence turning their attention to Diarra.
The 27-year-old holds similar characteristics to Zokora and would cost less, however the Spanish outfit have not given up hope of striking a deal for their first choice target.
