Sochaux defender Rabiu Afolabi is facing up to three weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
The Nigeria international has enjoyed a productive season so far and will be greatly missed by the French strugglers.
Sochaux currently find themselves firmly entrenched in the Ligue 1 relegation zone, four points from safety with 14 games remaining.
Afolabi admits to being disappointed at suffering his latest setback, but has backed himself to bounce back even stronger.
"I am very disappointed. I was having a good run and now I will be missing for three weeks," he told skysports.com.
"However, I am trying to stay positive and hope I will be back soon.
"The diagnosis is three weeks because there was a tear, but I will be okay."
Meanwhile, Afolabi is refusing to read too much into reports suggesting he is attracting interest from England and insists he remains fully focused on helping Sochaux maintain their top-flight status.
"The Premier League is a strong league and if I go there one day I will try and make a name for myself," he added.
"But for now everything is good at Sochaux and I am happy here."
