Brazilian midfielder keen on Serie A return

Bordeaux midfielder Fernando has revealed that he would be tempted by a return to Italy in the summer. The Brazilian moved to France in 2005, having spent the previous two years taking in spells at Siena and Catania. He was reported to have held discussions with Palermo and Genoa last year in regards to a move back to Serie A, although those enquiries ultimately came to nothing. Fernando is contracted to Bordeaux until 2011, after penning an extension to his deal in 2007, but admits that he could be on his way out of Stade Chaban Delmas before that point. "At a certain time I will need to leave," he told Aujourd'hui Sport.

Verbal agreement

"In June I will finish my fourth season with Bordeaux, so that could be the right moment. "I had talks with the chairman (Jean-Louis Triaud) and the coach (Laurent Blanc) last summer and they asked me to stay. "But they gave me their word that if a good offer is made in the summer they will let me leave. So that is a verbal agreement for a June departure. "I am not sure whether I will stay or go. It depends on the proposals I receive. "It is true that Italy would be my preferred choice. But I don't want to choose yet because I may stay in France."
